Search Asotin County Court Docket

The Asotin County court docket is a public record of case events, filings, and hearing settings in Washington trial courts. To search the Asotin County court docket, first identify the Asotin court level and then use that court's search channel. Asotin Superior Court and limited-jurisdiction courts do not share one complete local database. The Asotin clerk who keeps the official file also changes with the Asotin court. A search result or calendar line can help locate a matter, while the official Asotin County court docket and filed records supply the details needed to confirm a setting, event, or result.

Two Asotin County Docket Paths

No single docket covers Asotin County. The County Clerk keeps the Superior Court records. Odyssey holds the public view of Superior criminal, civil, domestic, probate and guardianship, and juvenile-offender cases. That access still runs within the limits of access rules. The free statewide search points to those matters. Washington Courts cautions, though, that its index is not the official record.

Limited-jurisdiction courts follow a separate route. The AOC court-code page lists Asotin County District Court as an Enterprise Justice court. Its effective date is October 28, 2024. Current state guidance places Asotin District, Asotin Municipal, and Clarkston Municipal on re:SearchWA. If that portal is down, call the Asotin District Court Clerk at 509-243-2027 or stop by the courthouse.

What a Court Docket Shows

Think of a court docket as the case's event list, in order. Odyssey's public case view can show case information, parties, disposition events, events, hearings, and the Register of Actions. The downloadable docket PDFs for Asotin County take a narrower slice. They cover one day's scheduled work. The listing includes the Asotin court, judge, time, cause number, caption, lawyers, and hearing label.

One line never tells the whole story. A motion entry means a request was filed or set for hearing. It does not prove the judge granted anything. A calendar date shows a hearing was scheduled. It says nothing about whether the event actually happened. For the real result, look to the later register entry and the filed order.

Asotin County Odyssey Search Fields

Odyssey Smart Search is the main court-specific tool for Asotin County Superior Court. Anonymous users clear a verification step and pick Asotin as the court location. They can then search by case number, party name, business name, attorney name, bar number, judicial officer, or another supported type. Filters for case type, status, and filing-date range narrow things further.

The results list gives the case number, file date, type, location, and party name. Clicking the case number opens the full case view. From there you can move through hearings, events, disposition events, and the Register of Actions. Asotin County also sells a remote Odyssey subscription for deeper document access. It runs $120 per user per year. The subscription needs original registration forms. It can take about one week to process. You do not need it just to use the free statewide pointer.

Which Courts Keep Dockets

Asotin County Superior Court is the county's general-jurisdiction trial court. Its docket covers felonies. It also covers civil matters beyond Asotin District Court's authority, real-property title or possession, domestic relations, probate, guardianship, juvenile matters, and appeals from lower tribunals. The Asotin County Clerk maintains the docket and case file for this court.

Asotin County District Court is the limited-jurisdiction court. It hears misdemeanors, gross misdemeanors, traffic and other infractions, small claims, and qualifying civil cases. Bond and preliminary proceedings land there too. The Asotin District Court Clerk keeps those records. The two named municipal courts are contracted into that same administration.

The official Washington court directory shows how each local court and clerk routes:

Asotin County court docket official court and records navigation

That directory helps when a caption or notice names an office but leaves the portal unclear. Court level decides both the database and the public counter you need.

Asotin County Courthouse Record Hub

The Asotin County courthouse sits at 135 2nd Street in Asotin. Asotin Superior Court, the County Clerk, Juvenile Court, and Asotin District Court all sit at one address. One building, yes. One shared file system, no. You still have to ask the right office. The County Clerk's records counter, on the second floor, handles Superior files and copies. Asotin District Court takes care of its own case help, dates, and payments. It also handles the contracted municipal records.

What does the Clerk actually do? The office describes itself as the Asotin Superior Court's administrative and financial officer. It also serves as record administrator. It receives and classifies documents and assigns cause numbers. It dockets events, preserves hard-copy records and exhibits, and builds an independent record of hearings.

The official County Clerk source lays out the local record duties and contact details:

County Clerk counter hours run 8:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The file-viewing page lists a later afternoon endpoint. Call 509-243-2081 before a special trip.

Finding Court Dates and Settings

Superior Court dates start in two places. Check Odyssey Search Hearings and the calendar or docket PDFs Asotin County posts. The Superior calendar page links to criminal, civil, juvenile, child-support, dependency, and other dockets. It also carries a warning worth heeding: dates change. District and municipal matters work differently. Use the shared local calendar, re:SearchWA, or Washington Courts Find My Court Date.

Read the setting label with care, because each one means something distinct. Initial arraignment, omnibus or trial setting, motion hearing, treatment review, small-claims trial, and review all serve different purposes. A reset or continuance only moves the event. The case itself stays open. When the newest portal entry disagrees with the posted PDF, compare them. Then call the Asotin court. The Asotin District Court Clerk cannot reschedule a hearing for you. That request goes through the applicable prosecutor or court process.

Want the full local date workflow? It includes the separate Superior and District pages. See the Asotin County court calendar.

Asotin County Weekly Docket Rhythm

Why does the weekday matter? Local rules assign each block a home. District civil, small-claims, and traffic matters land on Monday. Clarkston municipal settings come on Tuesday. Wednesday blocks handle Asotin County and Asotin city matters. Trials generally take Thursdays and Fridays, and weekday jail teleconference bond hearings can add criminal work on top of that.

Asotin Superior Court keeps its own regular docket days and posts separate calendar material. Instead of a court reporter, ordinary Superior calendars are digitally audio recorded. Anyone who needs audio must ask the County Clerk by hearing date.

Setting
A scheduled court event, not the final result.
Reset
A new date assigned to an event that did not remain on its prior setting.
Continuance
A court-approved postponement to a later date.
Register of Actions
Odyssey's chronological list of recorded case events.

Note: Always confirm a near-term date with the Asotin court. The posted Asotin County court docket can change after publication.

Public Access to Dockets

Washington does not treat court case records as a routine county administrative request. Judicial access rules govern them. General Rule 31 supplies the central public-access framework, so start there. The right first source is the Asotin court or clerk that holds the case. General Rule 31.1 covers judicial administrative records, and it cannot substitute for a case-file request.

Public access has limits, though. Sealed cases and sealed documents stay closed to viewing and copying. Juvenile, dependency, adoption, family, mental-health, medical, treatment, and unserved-warrant material may be closed or limited. Court policy also requires personal identifiers to be redacted.

Washington access authorities:

General Rule 31 governs access to court case records.

RCW 13.50.050 restricts juvenile offender records and identifying information.

JIS Data Dissemination Policy defines public index and confidential data fields.

Asotin District local rules identify confidential limited-jurisdiction documents.

Three Asotin County Record Layers

Three layers sit behind the phrase "court records," and confusing them causes trouble. The docket is only an index of events and settings. A filed document is the complaint, petition, motion, order, judgment, exhibit, or affidavit behind an entry. A certified copy is what the Asotin clerk produces and certifies for official use. A portal screen print is not certification.

For a public Superior document, try Odyssey first. If the image is not there, submit the County Clerk's online form, return the paper form, mail the request, or visit the counter. Name the cause number, the exact document, and the filing or hearing date. District and municipal records run through re:SearchWA and the Asotin District Court Clerk.

The official viewing and request page lists the channels, expected processing, and published charges. Routine requests are generally processed within three business days, the Asotin clerk says. Complex searches can take longer. Restricted or sealed files may require identification or a court order.

Superior servicePublished amount
Non-certified printed or emailed copy$0.50 per page
Certified copy$5 first page, then $1 each additional page
Authenticated or exemplified copy$4 authentication plus certification charges
Hearing audio$25 per hearing date
Complex or exceptional search$30 per hour when applicable

Asotin County Filing Technology Split

The public-search split has a filing split to match. Under the Superior local rules, Asotin, Columbia, and Garfield Asotin Superior Courts accept no e-filings. Attorneys file paper documents and provide bench copies when a rule requires them, and the Asotin County Clerk then classifies and dockets those records.

Asotin District Court went the other way. The AOC identifies its Enterprise Justice conversion in 2024. District local rules require attorneys to use the designated eFile & Serve system effective February 1, 2025, with listed exceptions such as some criminal initiation documents sent through SECTOR. For District and contracted municipal cases, public access runs through re:SearchWA.

The timing gap this creates is real. A case filed at one court may enter its public system through a different process than a case filed at the other. A filer should never assume an Odyssey account is the District e-filing tool, or that District eFile & Serve places a Superior document in the County Clerk's file.

The Clerk and Docket Records

The Asotin County Clerk keeps the Asotin Superior Court records. The list is long: felony criminal, civil, domestic, probate, guardianship, adoption or parentage, juvenile, dependency, and mental-commitment files. The office also maintains docket events, minutes, judgments, exhibits, warrants, writs, attachments, and garnishments. Public users may inspect eligible files, obtain plain copies, or request certified and authenticated copies.

The live Asotin Superior Court request form asks for the cause number. It also asks for a document or audio description:

On that form, the requester picks certified, authenticated or exemplified, non-certified, or hearing audio, and the Asotin clerk then contacts them with the fee. Mail and in-person channels remain available too.

Asotin County Docket Workload

How busy is this docket? Official Washington Courts figures give scale without describing any one case. Asotin County Superior Court recorded 851 filings and 3,526 proceedings in calendar year 2025. The filing total included 143 criminal, 299 civil, 111 domestic, 147 probate or guardianship, 24 adoption or parentage, seven mental illness or alcohol, 70 juvenile dependency, and 50 juvenile offender filings.

299Civil filings, the largest listed filing category

Filings measure new matters coming in. Proceedings measure court activity, so their totals run much higher. District and municipal work is counted separately from this. Those numbers explain why the Asotin County court docket holds so many event types in a small county, but they cannot predict how long any one case will take.

Court Dockets by City in Asotin County

Asotin County has two incorporated cities with pages here: Clarkston and Asotin. Neither city keeps a stand-alone countywide database of municipal dockets. Both courts run through the Asotin County District Court arrangement, and current public searches point to re:SearchWA. The city on your citation still matters. It picks which municipal docket and which prosecutor handles the case.

Clarkston Court Docket

2024 OFM estimate: 7,240. Clarkston Municipal Court matters use the shared Asotin District Court schedule and records office.

2024 OFM estimate: 1,225. Asotin Municipal Court has a city setting while current records route through Asotin District Court administration.

Anatone shows up on the Asotin County geography page, but the OFM table and the state court directory list no separate municipality or municipal court there. So there is no Anatone community docket to search. An Anatone-area case turns up by venue and case type instead.
